12 Hurricane shelters available

GREAT BAY, St. Maarten (GIS) – A number of inquiries came in to the GIS Office regarding hurricane shelters. The Office of Disaster Management & Preparedness (ODMP) has provided the following listing of 12 hurricane shelters for the 2007 hurricane season.

The listing is as follows:

Dutch Quarter Community Center - Zorg en Rust Road - Lower Prince's Quarter
Genevieve de Weever School - Hope Estate - Upper Prince's Quarter
John Larmonie Center - Longwall Road - Philipsburg
Leonard Connor School - Venus Drive - Cape Bay
Leopold Bell School - Union Road - Cole Bay
Milton Peters College - L.B. Scot Road - South Reward
Raoul Illidge Sports Complex - Welgelegen Road - Cay Hill
Salvation Army Building - Union Road - Cole Bay
Simpson Bay Community Center - Simpson Bay Road - Simpson Bay
