Professional ?!?!?!?

This stable is a disgrace for horses and equestrians alike.
How anyone loving horses can stand the sight ?

Filthy stables, some boxes have holes in the concrete floors, most if not all have cockroaches, filthy (greenish) water in buckets etc.

Hard to understand, but there's almost disinterest by the owners how their horses are treated.
Back in the States these folks would get in serious trouble operating like this.

Safety?
None of the "trail guides" has any knowledge of First Aid, as far as I could find out there is no safety regulations or procedures.

Instruction for riders (especially cruise ship tourists) is minimal, riders even have no idea how to stop and go...!
In that case the "guides" hand out "whips" made on the spot by ripping them off bushes.

How can you hand a whip to an absolute amateur who has never ridden a horse before?!?
No adjustments have been made to match the stirrups to the riders,
Disinterest is stunning.
Apparently safety is no concern of them.

The only one thing important here is making money.
Nothing wrong with Capitalism, I love it, and owe my lifestyle to it, but when horses, staff and riders are paying the price, it's gone too far.

I personally spoke several people who had experience with this company, and they all paint the same scene, especially people with horse experience, also referred to as equestrians, are shocked and appalled.
Apparently many of the staff they hire for the season, Equestrian students, leave every season after just a few days of work at their new employment, disappointed at how things are run at "Lucky Stables"

So for all you horse lovers out there, please don't support animal abuse, visit the French side for riding.
Monitored and regulated by the French Government, it's cleaner, better maintained, a much larger area to ride, with nicer views and a real beach instead of a small patch where they dump you into the water for a quick picture, instead of the promised swimming with your horse!
Bayside stables, near Orient beach, is enjoying horse back riding like it should be experienced, not some factory setting where horses are paying the price.

Please don't get me wrong, I do not bash companies normally, in this case though, after reading this description of being profesional etc., I just had to jump in.
Enjoy St. Maarten, it's a fabulous place to hang out and unwind a bit from our hectic lives.

sincerely, Martha S. L., CO
