St. Louis Car Rentals

Marius is the reason to rent from St. Louis Car Rentals.

I am from the USA and normally I am the person who will gravitate towards the brand names I know when arranging for a car rental- Hertz, Thrifty, etc. After dealing with visitors to the island for several years however, I have found that the small, locally owned companies are the way to go, if they are well run. This is not because the cars are super special or the prices are super duper low - it is because if you need help with your car, a small company like St. Louis Car Rentals is very responsive. Marius has been running the company for over 10 years and knows all the ins and outs of the business. He is helpful and kind, and I'd recommend his company to anyone needing a rental car on this island.

Does this sound like a barefaced plug? Yep, it is.

(P.S. St. Louis Car Rentals also offers chauffer services - go to that section on their site for a quote.)

Ah, thank you. Those pesky extra spaces slipping in unnoticed!

I fixed it. Thanks for stopping by!

Thanks for this suggestion! We used Value Car Rental last time we were there, but for our upcoming overnight rental on the 24th and 25th, I think we'll give St. Louis a try, based on your recommendation.

If you have a chance to get down to the boardwalk on that Friday evening, and want to meet up, let me know. If not, then have a Happy Birthday!!!

Hey gs! I hope you’ll have a great visit.

Thanks for the birthday wishes – I hope to get to the boardwalk and find out first hand how the car rental goes!

Are there any car rental agencies that have cars actually at the airport, and you conclude all the busines there, instead of them having to drive you to their place of business?

Hey gs - none will officially do that. It is my understanding that car rental companies are not allowed to have cars at the airport as it is Unfair Competition for the taxi drivers. Because of this, the only companies that do it are small ones who will drive to the airport in one car, give it to the customer, and then call for a ride from someone to go get the next car.

Thanks for the insight about the competition thing. That explains something I've wondered about: When I've been someplace else on the island and rented a car, the rental agency always delivered the car to me, wherever I was, except at the airport, where they always drove me to their office. You explained why the airport is treated differently than anywhere else.
